Mozi Minute: Set two alarms
Business and sleep.
I’m obsessed with finding single behaviors that creates multiple good outcomes.
Here’s the most underrated one I’ve found: go to bed on time.
Sounds obvious but bare with me.
If you go to bed on time...
You don’t drink, so no DUI.
You’re not endlessly doomscrolling or just watching the 3rd episode in a row of trash tv.
You’re not walking around at 2am, so you don’t get mugged.
You’re not driving tired, so you don’t wrap your car around a pole.
TLDR: Nothing good happens after 10pm.
On the other hand: if you sleep at the same time every night, so your sleep quality compounds.
Your body composition improves.
Your decision quality goes up.
You’re ability to learn increases.
You live longer.
You’re physically stronger.
You’re less likely to get sick.
One behavior. Dozens of disasters avoided PLUS dozens of benefits.
So here’s what most people do: set an alarm for when they wake up.
I’ve found the opposite to be significantly more powerful: Set your alarm for when you go to bed.
Do that and you’ll wake up naturally because you can’t oversleep when you go to bed at 9pm. :)
8 hours of sleep is still 5am and you get a jumpstart on everyone else.
Better to do one habit with 10 payoffs, than ten habits with one.
Just one of the few things that has helped me.
Also, treat weekends and weekdays the same and it works even better...
Considering 104 weekend days per year, they add up.
Bed time is that big domino.

PS - This has nothing to do with business and everything to do with how you operate as a person. But, how you operate as a person has everything to do with how you operate a business.
